Projects – Overview

Since I have a few New-Entrepreneurial projects, I thought I would introduce them and give you a little background information on each of them.

  • Modularware: This is my passion project. It is a programming project I have been working on for over 15 years and it is currently into it’s third revision. It is a proprietary framework and content management system for internet websites, similar to WordPress. I have several website projects that I want to create, but I don’t feel that other platforms like WordPress a good enough, nor flexible enough to handle the job I need them to do. I generally pick a small task to work on everyday with this project. This project is so complex that if I don’t, I lose track of where I am, what I need to do, and how it all works. I can lose a week trying to get back into the swing of this project, even if I only take a week or two off.
  • Marketing Mac: This is my main side project. It is the one that I can earn the most amount of money from in the shortest amount of time. It is also the project that will allow me to quit my 9 to 5 in the shortest amount of time, hopefully by my target date. This project is a marketing consultancy and tuition company, where I will offer marketing workshops to small groups of businesspeople. I should be able to earn enough to quit work and give me back the time to spend on my Modularware project, and with my family. It will also give me the opportunity to travel. I have previously taught marketing in TAFE as a guest lecturer, so I am really just utilising a skillset that I have previously employed.
  • SFM – The Six Figure Mentors: From the six figure mentors I am learning how to set up websites and market them on the internet. I am using this course, and a few others, to update my marketing knowledge. This will help me to offer better workshops in Marketing Mac, and I will also apply this knowledge to the ComDotAu projects mentioned below. SFM is probably the main course I am studying. I am able to earn while I learn as an affiliate for them. They are also teaching methods to create the right mindset for success. With my limited time it is taking a little longer than I had anticipated though. These courses lead to a few side projects such as:
    • The New Entrepreneur – Yes, this website offering my tales of trials and tribulations on my new-entrepreneurial journey.
    • Sick and Tired of Nine to Five – An SFM affiliate lead generation site.
    • Sharing Success – Based on an idea that arose from a pitch-fest I was attending, it is basically a review site for all the “success” courses I have taken and books I have read. It’s sister website “share success” will build a community of similarly like-minded people offering their reviews.
  • ComDotAu: Once I have launch the Modularware platform, I have several projects that will utilise the software. This is when I will consider myself a true entrepreneur! A list of these projects can be found at comdotau.biz

Perhaps the fact that I have a few projects on the go is the reason they are progressing a little slower than I would like, but they are all inter-related. Each project either directly relies on, or indirectly influences the other projects. It also gives me the opportunity to work on the project I either feel I must be working on, or the project that I feel the most productive and excited about at that time.

Over the coming weeks I will elaborate more on each of these projects, and keep you updated on their progress.
